Artistic Interpretation: Augmented Reality
In 2016 the previous administration turned to UK company Nexus Stories to give people a feel for life inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue through an augmented reality Christmas greeting. Using just a one dollar bill and a smartphone, the special app took users on a journey across a year, season by season, beginning with President Obama arriving in the helicopter to leaving with his family (in the ‘Beast’ Cadillac) in the winter. What was most amazing was that it was designed with exploration in mind; you could explore any angle simply by moving your phone around the dollar bill and the experience would update instantly in real time.
