Emma Winter is a British interdisciplinary artist whose practice centres on the creation of emotionally resonant worlds.

Her work explores perception and the subtle forces that shape how we experience the world around us, engaging both outer landscapes and inner awareness.

Her practice navigates the interplay between imagination and existence, transience and perception, exploring opposites, distortions and the shifting boundary between reality and illusion. Through this enquiry, Winter creates sensorial works that invite contemplation, connection and a heightened sense of presence.

Beginning with close observation of place, material and atmosphere, each body of work develops through an evolving process of experimentation and making. Guided by ongoing research into energy, the elements, states of matter and the relationship between object, space and emotion, her practice considers how environments influence feeling and behaviour. Rooted in process and experimentation, her work brings together physical making and perceptual enquiry, often blurring the boundaries between art, environment and experience.

Alongside her autonomous artistic practice, Winter draws on more than fifteen years of experience creating worlds across film, performance, editorial, fashion and commercial commissions. This background continues to inform her approach to materiality, composition and form, enabling her to translate complex ideas into cohesive works where every element contributes to a unified artistic vision.
